You will be responsible for damage (or any part of function not working) if you flash your own firmware. So you are recommended to use the default firmware which shipped with the board. ** Warning: You must be very be careful when you do soldering on this ESC because it is small. All IC components on this board are tiny so the soldering iron/gun might damage the ICs if it is overheat. So you must have good soldering skill (fast & clean) to do this job properly.
